McKinley Kindergarten In The News
Mrs. Kelly's class celebrated Dr. Seuss's Birthday on March 2nd. The students celebrated by making hats.
McKinley Elementary- Kindergarten: As we finished up our Wood and Paper science unit we watched and helped make new paper out of old!!Mrs. Kelly's class was joined by Mrs. Roberts' class for the activity. Both kindergarten classes have enjoyed learning about wood and paper and we are excited to fill our aquariums with fish for our next Science unit - Observing an Aquarium!!!
Lincoln School: 2nd Quarter Awards Assembly
Lincoln School of Science & Technology fourth-grade students read a response from President Obama to a letter they had written him voicing concerns about the rainforest.
Students spoke about and demonstrated technology at the assembly!

McKinley TCAP Celebration

McKinley Elementary celebrated the start of TCAP. Principal, Drenda Manning, gathered everyone in the gym to wish the third graders good luck on their tests while the band welcomed them into the gym. The second graders presented them with gold medals that they made. The school also decorated the hallways for them.
Canon Exploratory School will soon have a beautiful new shed for the NEW PE equipment and Music equipment!
A HUGE THANKS goes to Carrie Hanenberg's PE/Wellness grant, CES PTO & parents, donations from Home Depot & Allied Building Products in Pueblo, John Paul Ary, Jeff Peterson at the District Maintenance department and Seam Murphy with the CCHS Carpentry class!

McKinley Elementary - Monica Kelly's class celebrated 100's Day, which celebrates the 100th day of school year, on Friday, February 7, 2014.
The students wore their 100 Day crowns (pictured above). They had fun coloring the crowns, making a special snack, and doing things 100 times - hopping, jumping jacks, snapping our fingers, and other fun activities!

District Spelling Bee Winner!
Congratulations to MVCKS Student, Emily Reynolds, for winning the District Spelling Bee! Emily competed for 16 rounds and won on the word "divvy." Emily will compete in the State Competition on March 8th, in Denver.
