Funships, Support Groups, Family Fun Events


Funshops provide information on topics of parenting, health, safety, nutrition and child development. They are conveniently offered during both day and evening hours on a monthly basis. Refer to newsletters on the home page for monthly topics.

Love & Logic Parenting Classes

Periodically throughout the year, Love and Logic Parenting Classes are offered at the Family Center. These classes provide parents of school age children parental skills using guidance and consequences. Call the Family Center for more information at 269-1523.

ECE CARES with Families

CARES with Families workshops provide help for parents and caregivers to guide children in learning life long skills-being safe, getting along with others, expressing emotions, solving conflicts, managing anger, developing self-regulation. These strategies also aid adults in understanding and responding to challenging behaviors.

Infant Loss Support Group

A support group for anyone who has been affected by the loss of a child. If you need someone to talk to call Katherine Bair at 269-1523. She can connect you to parents who have had similar losses. A group meets every 4th Wednesday at the Family Center from 6:30-8:40 p.m. where there will be someone to talk to, SIDS and miscarriage information, referrals and education. All family members are welcome. 

Child care is provided for all the above services.

Family Fun Events

The Family Center sponsors three to four events for young children and their families.  The Fall Festival features children's activities and pictures with The Great Pumpkin.  The winter holiday event includes free pictures with Santa,  and the Summer Picnic in the park includes a Fishing Derby.  Refer to newsletters on the home page for fun events schedules.
