Can you believe it? The school year is already half over?! We're transitioning from 1st to 2nd semester, and the art room is a busy place right now as a result. The first semester students are reflecting upon their experiences, polishing up their art projects, and choosing a piece for the annual Fremont Center for the Arts Secondary Schools Art Show while 2nd semester art students are wrapping up their other classes. 2nd semester students can prepare for art class by purchasing a sketchbook and a dozen #2 pencils. 7th graders honed their observation drawing skills and 8th graders had the unique experience of making Surrealists paintings on restaurant tables last winter. They also painted colorful images on beehive frames for a local beekeeper in the spring. Check out "American Bee Journal's" July edition.
