Art Program Going-Ons
Can you believe it? The first semester is already over! First semester students have reflected upon their creative experiences, polished up their art projects to be chosen for the art show or taken home, and are moving on to their next semester with new Life Skills classes. 2nd semester students have had a variety of projects and creative activities since they started art class mid-January. They are continuing their artistic adventures; planning, creating, revising and refining their work, critiquing, reflecting, and displaying their art. Speaking of "displaying!!!"... The annual Fremont Center for the Arts secondary schools art show was well attended and over 60 Harrison middle school students had their art on display. See the Art Program Calendar for important art program updates.
7th graders honed their observation drawing skills while drawing taxidermic and LIVE animals.
PAST ART EXPERIENCES: In 2012, 8th graders had the unique experience of making Surrealists paintings on restaurant tables last winter.
They also painted colorful images on beehive frames for a local beekeeper in the spring. Check out "American Bee Journal's" July edition online.
