How to get services: An enrollment application is required; the 20 spaces are filled on a first come basis.
A referral for Colorado Preschool Program is required

Program Description:  The New Child Montessori Preschool was begun in the fall of 1974.  It has served children in the Canon City and surrounding areas with love and compassion while providing a developmentally appropriate and an educationally challenging curriculum.

The Montessori program provides the opportunity and stimulation under the guidance of specially trained teachers for the child to experience life, gain new impressions, learn by doing, and know success by mastering his environment through successive stages of development.

Parent involvement is encouraged through observations, programs, and conferences.  The New Child Montessori Preschool is licensed by the State of Colorado and is funded by student tuition.  As part of the Colorado Preschool Project there are scholarships available.  Class size is 20 students with 2 CPP slots available.
