Welcome Message: Welcome to the website of Mrs. Kelley Bell, Speech language Pathologist, MA CCC-SLP.
About the Teacher: Hello, I am Kelley Bell and I have been a Wildcat most of my life, but not always here in Cañon City. I attended elementary school and high school in a Mulvane, Kansas where I was a Wildcat!! GO CATS!!! I am the Speech Language Pathologist for McKinley Elementary, Madison Exploratory and Cañon City Middle School. This is my twenty-second year in education as a Speech Language Pathologist; two years in western Kansas, five years in Colorado Springs and fifteen years here in Cañon.
As I said I grew up and attended my early schooling in Mulvane, Kansas. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher since my grandmother and my parents were teachers and I grew up seeing how much fun they had with their students. I attended college at Emporia State University for two years. I changed my mind and decided to pursue education in speech therapy so I transferred to The Wichita State University. I received with my Bachelor’s degree in education and then a Master’s degree in Communicative Disorders and Sciences from Wichita State University.
Currently, I live in the beautiful mountains outside of Cañon City with my husband, Roger, and my three children; Wesley, Rowan and Audrey. I love watching the wildlife that come to visit my house, hummingbirds and elk are my favorites. I enjoy watching my kids participate in their school and sports activities. I also enjoy listening to music of all types and camping with my family. As a family we attend many music events throughout the summer and even some in the winter. Most of all I LOVE continuing to be a WILDCAT
About the Class: In the educational setting speech services are available to students who meet the state requirements and demonstrate an educational impact of their disability. Speech does fall under the umbrella of special education.
