This comes with a $15,000 cash award to be invested directly into our burgeoning Systems Go rocketry program, along with an amazing amount of positive publicity.
The fact of the matter is this is not about Systems Go, a program in its infancy. Rather, it is the result of the incredible school transformation the Cañon City High School staff has guided during the past three years, turning itself into the best darn Student-Centered/Pathways/P-TECH high school in Colorado while adhering to the many wonderful traditions a rural high school experience can offer, as clearly desired by its students.
This award is also a nod to our amazing community partners who have invested in our kids, be it monetarily, by donating equipment and supplies, or simply by opening their doors to numerous intern and apprentice opportunities for our kids. It is also a testament to the wonderful partnership we have established with Pueblo Community College and our first in the nation rural high school P-TECH program.
As we expressed at our all-staff gathering in August, there are many, many, many great things going on in this district at all levels. None of which could occur without the hard work and dedication displayed by the amazing people we are fortunate enough to have working on behalf of our kids.
With our culmination of traditional homecoming week festivities, there are many wonderful reasons to be proud to be a Tiger.
Be you a current student, or alumni, I encourage you to wear those Tiger colors with pride today!
