Weekly Update September 11-15, 2017

This is a summary of the upcoming week from Principal Autobee

Good afternoon, Harrison Families! This is a message from Principal Autobee.

We would like to thank those parents who came to our PTO meeting this week. We were able to hear about the exciting fundraising opportunities that are coming up, get an update and find volunteers for the Hawk Shop, hear a report about kindergarten, and learn how the school did on the School Performance Framework. I am excited to announce that Harrison School is now a Performance School, based on student achievement and growth on state assessments. I would especially like to recognize the middle school math students and teachers who made amazing growth last year. We will continue the fabulous work that has already been accomplished! Student results will be sent home this week with students.

Here are the events for the week:

  • On Monday, Harrison hosts the Classical Academy for volleyball.
  • On Tuesday, there will be a middle school Battle of the Books meeting in the library at 3:15 and an instrument rental night at 5:00 p.m. in the Commons.
  • On Wednesday, we will have our first delayed start day. Middle school students will begin at 9:55 and elementary students will begin at 10:20. Breakfast will not be served. The football team will play at Fremont Middle School.
  • On Thursday, we will have a lockdown drill. No one will be allowed in or out of the building while we are on lockdown. The cross country team will have a meet at Iron Horse Park, hosted by Carson Middle School.

Have a great week, everyone!
