Principal's Message
Welcome to the 24/25 school year at Lincoln School of Science & Technology! This marks my sixth year as the leader of this fantastic school community. My wife and I are both products of the Cañon City School District and are proud to call Cañon our home. Our daughter will be in 5th grade at Lincoln this year, while our son continues on in middle school. I believe he is thriving in his middle school years in part due to the education he received from the Lincoln staff.
This marks the second year we will benefit from having a Dean of Students. New to that position this year is Mr. Mitch Ary. Most recently, Mr. Ary taught 4th grade here at Lincoln and is now excited to embark on a leadership path as a member of our office team. I am confident that he will work well with our staff and students to build upon our already-successful school culture. Mr. Ary brings several years of literacy expertise with him, as he’ll also serve in the role of Literacy Coach for our school. He is undoubtedly a team-player who is dedicated to helping our Lincoln students be the best versions of themselves possible!
This school year is an exciting one for Lincoln! In November 2023, the community overwhelmingly voted to support our school district through the approval of Ballot Question 3A, which approved a Bond Issue to upgrade several school facilities. Nunn Construction will be breaking ground on a new gym and classroom addition at Lincoln this winter. We are working closely with Wold Architects and our District Leadership Team to bring these exciting changes to our Lincoln community for the fall of 2025. I’ll most certainly provide updates as we progress through this year.
I look forward to working with our families this year to help your children get the most of their time at Lincoln. Let’s collaborate to ensure your child is gaining all the academic and social skills necessary for their age and grade. I implore families to get involved and ask questions. We continue to enjoy a great community of families and welcome an open and transparent partnership with you. Please take the time to read through this updated handbook. Also make sure you stay current with school news on our Facebook page and YouTube channel. Feel free to reach out to me any time!
