Do I need to bring my child's Birth Certificate?
- Please bring a copy of birth certificate and immunizations to the Birth Certificates are required to enroll into Canon City Schools. Please bring a copy of New Student Birth Certificates to the Registration Kiosk July 13th-24th, 2026 8am-4pm located at 101 North 14th Street.

ALL students at ALL schools will have access to school meals at no cost. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at 719-276-5813.
However, to unlock significant benefits for your family and help strengthen our school community, we will be asking families to complete the Family Economic Survey/Application.
Please complete an application for your family!
Application 26-27 Options
- Fill out the application online via Campus Portal by going to the "More" menu (left) and selecting "Meal Benefits", then the "Meal Benefits Application".
- Download the application, print it and fill it out. Turn the application in July 13-24th (District Admin Building 8-4pm) or your child's school July 28-30th.
- Get a paper copy at your local school during registration and then make sure you return it.
Possible benefits of completing the survey/meal benefits application:
- Increased “at risk” funding for our district. In previous years, the "at risk" factor contributed almost $2 million in additional funding.
- Waived college application fees
- Waived/reduced extracurricular and athletic fees
- Waived/reduced testing fees
- Waived/reduced technology and other school fees
- Reduced cost of other community services (internet, utilities)

Campus Portal Online Registration Application -
I Need to Remove a Member from my Household, How do I do this?
You can do this during the Online Pre-Registration process. When you are on the student tab, under the "Relationships" section, locate the check box "No Relationship". Put a check box in the box. This will remove the person from the household.

You can do this during the Online Pre-Registration process. When you are on the student tab, under the "Relationships - Emergency Contacts" section, locate the check box "No Relationship". Put a check box in the box. This will remove the person from the list.
I registered at the end of school, do I have to do it again?
Returning Students, Yes. Online Registration process was not open for Returning Students. This opens July 2024.
If you participated in Kindergarten Roundup, you will still need to complete the Online Registration process.

- July 28th: 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- July 29th: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

- Cañon Exploratory School - (required for incoming kindergarten students and new families
- McKinley Elementary School (required for preschool students, incoming kindergarten and new families)

- Washington Elementary School - Required for incoming kindergarten students and new families (*Please note that the registration times are different for Washington than it is for other schools.)
