Rifle Team

Canon City High School Army JROTC has a long history of excellence in rifle marksmanship!  Since the 1920s, our cadets have risen to the top levels of competition, appearing at state and national level matches. The MSG Rhody S. Heinen Range, our home at Canon City High School, was named for one of our longest serving rifle coaches. We continue to excel in both precision and sporter three-position air rifle, and compete locally in the Southern Colorado Rifle League, as well as in state, regional, and national level matches. Additionally, our high school is one of only a handful of schools across the US that offers a full rifle marksmanship curriculum, focusing on safety and the fundamentals of three-position air rifle for novice shooters.
