What's New

The Canon City High School Junior ROTC Tiger Battalion is ready for the 2024-2025 school year and in an excellent position to enable cadets to develop their character, leadership skills, and prepare for life after high school. Last year, we maintained our Honor Unit With Distinction (HUD) status. This year, we will be very busy building on last year's success in our various special teams including the Drill Team and Color Guard, the Rifle Team, Raiders, and the CyberPatriot technology. This summer, we completed the 2nd Tiger Battalion Battalion Leadership Course (BLC), where cadets were able to prepare event calendars, team standard operation procedures (SOPs), and establish goals for the battalion for School Year 24-25. In June, 11 cadets attended the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC) where they negotiated obstacle courses, honed their outdoor survival skills, and rappelled down a 70 foot tower. This was a great opportunity for cadets to apply the leadership skills to motivate their peers to accomplish a myriad of challenging tasks.
