TMOBILE:
The state, through the Attorney General’s Office, has negotiated with T-Mobile to provide free hotspots, 100 GB of free data and low cost internet ready devices to a substantial number of eligible families in their coverage area.
The first step in the process is for you to indicate your interest in the program by clicking “get your schools on the waitlist” on this website There is some more basic information about the program there, and one of the company’s education team members should reach out to you soon after and can address more specifics. Please note that there is no guarantee that your district will receive all the resources requested in this process, and CDE is not suggesting you change any arrangements you have unless you prefer this opportunity.
Separately, CDE is exploring if additional funding to districts is available to support ongoing connectivity needs, such as monthly data fees. We should know more in the coming 2-3 weeks and will share more information publicly as it’s available.
