Cañon City Schools is pleased to announce it will officially launch full-time grade 6-12 digital learning for the entirety of the national COVID-19 crisis beginning Thursday, March 26th, 2020.
If you have a child in grades 6-12 (including grade 5 at Cañon Exploratory School), please have them check their Cañon City Schools email and log into the Schoology learning management system between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM on the morning of Thursday, March 26th. By doing so, each student will learn more about their personal responsibility in this learning process.
Direct instruction virtual lessons will take place each week from Monday through Thursday. Every other week, beginning this Friday, March 27th (as per our current school calendar) instructors will also be available to support student learning by answering questions and offering feedback related to classwork.
As we launch this imperfect process, we encourage parents to monitor and discuss daily schoolwork with their children to gauge the rigor and relevance of assignments, and to look for a student and parent survey designed to inform any adjustments that may need to be made as we move forward, to be administered by April 10th.
