On August 18th the Cañon City School District, Cañon City Police Department, and Cañon City Fire District held a coordinated functional lockdown drill.
To pull it off, over 60 CCSD employees volunteered three hours of their time on late Sunday afternoon.
As a result, many lessons were learned about communication and clearing rooms after they go into lockdown.
We hope we never have to use these skills, but feel better knowing we’ll be more ready should we ever have to.
