Kade Saffold, a first grader at Canon Exploratory School, did his quarterly project on Tezak Heavy Equipment, a local business. He wanted to learn more about how the company works, the different kinds of jobs you can do there, and how they blow up the rock.
Kade organized a field trip for his class to go to learn about how the company does mitigation work while preserving the natural animal habitat.
The class was given a guided tour through the quarry to see first hand how the rock is moved and sorted for different purposes. They also learned how they blast the rock and how the rock from the quarry is used in many different ways. It was a ROCKIN' field trip!
