GATE LEGO Simple Machines Challenge

Third Graders at Harrison School competed last night in the LEGO Simple Machines Challenge in Colorado Springs. Their task was to build a machine that would take mini marshmallows from a mining area to various places on the mat. The places on the mat were worth different point values. The machine requirements were to have three moving parts and use at least two simple machines. The students could put the marshmallows into the machine, but only the machine could drop them on the mat.The design challenge was an exercise in teamwork, problem solving, and creativity. Mrs. Konty received a grant from the Challenger Learning Center to make this possible! Way to go Mrs. Konty, Blake, Broden, Terrence, and Dustin! You represented Canon City Schools well last night.
