Summer Meal Program

Summer Food Program June 1 - July 29 @ CCHS and Mobile Locations

Each summer, children wait for the final bell of the school year. Summer is an exciting time for children to enjoy playtime with friends, a week at camp, a family vacation, or time at the pool. But now more than ever, many families are facing the  financial burden of inflation that may impact not only their summer plans but also their grocery bill. Families looking for ways to save on the increased grocery bill that comes with feeding children at home all summer long can take advantage of our Summer Food Service Program. With support from the USDA, our program is able to provide free meals to any child 18 years and under Monday to Friday from June 1 to July 29th (closed June 20th and July 4th). The program is open to any child and there are no income requirements or paperwork needed to participate in the program. Children can simply come to Cañon City High School between 8:00am - 9:30am for breakfast and 11:00am to 12:30pm. We also provide lunch at multiple mobile locations across the community, bringing the access closer to your home. Additionally, there is a waiver in place through at least June 30, 2022 that permits parents to pick up meals for their children (pick up service available at our mobile sites only). Please let us help you combat the inflation impacting your grocery and gas bill and join us for breakfast and/or lunch each day. Breakfast for adults is just $2.00 and lunch is $4.00.
