Dear Families,
Yikes! 2025 is off to quite a start on the weather side of things! That said, I’m sorry to interrupt your evening, but I know you’d rather know sooner than later when it comes to weather-impacted mornings.
As you likely know, today’s snowfall and icy conditions are persisting into this evening, and the freezing temps aren’t going to help matters tonight. The snowfall, coupled with forecasted temperatures in the teens, as well as icy road conditions, will make morning travel potentially dangerous for our students and ourselves. In turn, we are calling a two-hour delay for tomorrow morning, Wednesday, 1.8.25. We hope that the extra two hours will give county, city, and school district crews enough time to clear roads and passages to a safe level.
ALL SCHOOLS WILL BE ON A TWO-HOUR DELAYED SCHEDULE. Bus routes will be adjusted by two hours to accommodate the delayed start of school.
Normal attendance policies still apply. Please call your child’s school if they are unable to attend.
If conditions dictate that we must actually cancel school, we will update that information by 5:00 AM. Updates can be found on the district website or media outlets. We will also continue to use email for districtwide communication whenever dealing with delays or closures.
Please stay safe and warm this evening!
