Dear Families,

As you have likely seen, Fremont County is experiencing snowfall this morning, with conditions expected to continue, or perhaps worsen, throughout the day today. Temperatures remain cold, and with predicted accumulating snow, many roads across the area are becoming icy and unsafe for travel. Forecasts indicate that the heaviest snowfall will occur later this morning and continue into the afternoon.

For these reasons, Cañon City Schools will be closed today, Wednesday, December 3, 2025.  This decision has been especially challenging, given the timing of the storm, but ultimately, we feel it’s wise to err on the side of caution.

All school buildings, including the District Office, will be closed.

In addition, all after-school activities scheduled for today, December 3, have been canceled.

Snow is expected to persist through the day and gradually taper off by early Thursday morning. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and will communicate promptly regarding Thursday’s schedule.
