Assessment Resources
Get a clearer picture of your child’s academic strengths and areas for growth! CMAS score reports will be available in the Colorado Department of Education’s Family Portal beginning Friday, May 29. You can access your child’s results from home by logging into the Family Portal. https://familyportal.pearson.com/CO
You’ll need the following information to log in:
1. Student’s State ID (SASID) – This is found at the top of your child's CMAS score report from last year.
2. Student’s first name, last name, and date of birth
The results summary includes your child's score and performance level. By June 15, you will be able to access detailed results that provide:
- Information about your child’s strengths and areas for growth;
- Comparisons of your child's performance to their peers at the school, district, and state levels; and
- Tips for supporting your child’s learning at home.
You will also find resources to help you understand the results.
Remember - CMAS scores are one piece of the puzzle. CMAS scores provide insights about your child’s academic journey based on Colorado’s grade level expectations. We encourage you to view them alongside classroom grades and teacher feedback for a more complete picture of your child’s progress. Please take a few minutes to review your child’s results and celebrate their hard work!

Procedure for Parents who choose to excuse their student from state assessments
- Parents must meet face-to-face with the Principal of the building.
- At this meeting, the Principals advises the parent of State Statute 22-7-1006.3 stating that the state uses these assessment results for evaluating students’ mastery of and growth in the Colorado Academic Standards.
- Parents must write a letter of refusal.
- The principal will document on the documentation sheet provided in the handbook.
- The principal will keep a file of all documentation and submit to the DAC at the end of the assessment window.
It is important to note that non-participation in state assessments means parents will not have information about their child's attainment and growth on the state standards compared to other students in their school, district and state.
