Dear Parents/Guardians of 8th grade students
Canon City Middle School is excited to offer a powerful and transformational day for our 8th-grade students called Challenge Day. This program is designed to help break down barriers, build connections, and foster a positive school climate. During this day, students will participate in activities that focus on self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, responsible decision-making, and relationship skills. These skills are essential for building resilience, self-confidence, empathy, and compassion. This program has been leading school change and positive school culture for over 30 years.
Challenge day will take place on Tuesday the 27th of August and will run the entire school day. Once students start it is very important that they finish the day so we ask that students not be pulled from school at any time this day. If your student already has an appointment please notify us before the start of the program so that we can make accommodations. Lunch will be provided unless you would like to send a sack lunch with your student.
If you would like to participate or learn more about this program please visit www.challengeday.org and take a look at the videos and FAQ and if you would like to be a part please reach out to Mr. Oliver at 719-276-5740. Your students were provided with a form today providing more information to them they will be bringing home.
Thank you for everything,
Jesse Oliver
Principal
