PSAT/NMSQT sign up

Hello sophomore and junior families!

On October 8th your student will have the opportunity to take the PSAT/NMSQT. This exam is the qualifying test for entry to the National Merit Scholarship Program. We encourage sophomores and especially juniors to sign up for this exam. It is great practice for the April school day SAT and there are scholarship opportunities for students who earn highly competitive scores on the NMSQT. Click  here for more information about the exam. Please register for the test using this  google form.

The test will be held at CCHS at 8:30 am on October 8th. The cost is $18, although students who qualify for free or reduced lunch are eligible for a discount. Please see Mrs. Merlino in the activities office to pay or inquire about your discounted rate once you've signed up to take the test. Once students have signed up for the test, we will send you and your student pertinent information leading up to the test date.

Students, don't forget to log into College Board to see your PSAT score from last April to get an idea of how much you should study. It's also a great idea to link your College Board account to Khan Academy or you can simply take diagnostic quizzes through Khan Academy to personalize your practice. Check out this presentation for further instructions. The better prepared you are for the PSAT/NMSQT and the SAT, the more competitive candidate you are as you apply for scholarships and admissions.

Please reach out to your student's school counselor with questions. Thank you for your time, and continued support.
