The task of protecting our children online is a challenge that grows in complexity every day. With 88% of our teens 12-17 now using cell phones, we have many on line risks to educate our children on. The three top online risks include Cybercrime, Cyberbullying and Online Reputation. Fortunately, new apps are being created on a regular basis to help parents regulate their children’s use of apps and the internet. Some Facts about Teens and Social Media:

  • 90% of teens have used some form of social media.
  • 87% of youth have reported witnessing cyber-bullying.
  • 49% of youth report regretting something they have posted.
  • The average teen sends 60-70 texts a day!
  • 24% of teens are online constantly (online addiction).
